McCall Behavioral Health Network Celebrates Grand Reopening of Hotchkiss House in Torrington.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TORRINGTON, Conn. – May 19, 2026 – The McCall Behavioral Health Network is proud to announce the reopening of the Hotchkiss House, a residential treatment and recovery home that will expand access to critical behavioral health and wellness services in northwest Connecticut.

The Hotchkiss House will operate as an American Society of Addiction Medicine level 3.1 mixed-gender, clinically managed, low-intensity residential treatment program with 11 beds, providing structured, supportive care for individuals in early recovery. The program strengthens McCall’s continuum of residential treatment options in the region.

“Hotchkiss House represents an important step forward in expanding access to high-quality residential care in our community,” said Maria Coutant Skinner, President and CEO of McCall Behavioral Health Network. “We know that recovery is not one-dimensional. By focusing on the whole person, we are creating a foundation for lasting healing. This home provides a safe, supportive environment where individuals can begin to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.”

Rooted in a whole-person approach to care, Hotchkiss House supports individuals not only in addressing substance use but also in improving mental and physical health. Residents receive comprehensive, coordinated support designed to promote stability and build life skills.

“Residential treatment plays a critical role in helping individuals stabilize and begin their recovery journey,” said Joy Pendola, Chief Clinical Officer at the McCall Behavioral Health Network. “At Hotchkiss House, our team delivers evidence-based, person-centered care that meets individuals where they are. By integrating clinical support with a structured, therapeutic environment, we are able to address the complex needs of the whole person and support meaningful, long-term recovery.”

The reopening of Hotchkiss House comes at a time of continued need for accessible behavioral health and substance use services across Connecticut. By expanding residential capacity, McCall is helping to ensure that more individuals have access to the care and support they need to begin and sustain recovery.
