Mental health care that’s tailored to individual needs.

McCall offers a wide range of treatment options for mental health disorders.

The McCall Behavioral Health Network is recognized throughout Western Connecticut for our substance use recovery services. People may not be aware that we also offer extensive support for mental health concerns. We provide outpatient care, residential programs, employment services, and more. Our experienced staff of compassionate professionals will work with an individual to create an effective treatment plan that varies on a person-to-person basis.

Outpatient Mental Health Services

Intervention and counseling to support a healthy mind.

You don’t need to have a substance use disorder to receive care from McCall’s team of highly trained clinicians. In fact, we provide outpatient mental health services for individuals with anxiety, depression, as well as mood and personality disorders. At McCall, we take a trauma-informed, gender-responsive approach to treatment.

Psychiatric nurse practitioners are available onsite at our outpatient facilities to consult with individuals and provide prescriptions, as needed. Our experienced staff can also address challenges such as problem gambling and eating disorders.

We offer Spanish-speaking services in Waterbury and Danbury, as well as Portuguese-speaking services in Danbury. Call our main number at 860.496.2100 to speak with a bilingual Intake Coordinator who can put you in the right direction (Monday through Friday, from 10:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m.).

Services include:
  • Brief Treatment – For times when a short-term intervention is all that is needed to help a person get back on track to health. This approach is specific, focused on the here and now and uses a cognitive behavioral approach.
  • Individual Counseling – Available both in addition to group participation, as well as a stand-alone method of support and intervention.
  • Genoa Pharmacy Located inside McCall’s Renato Outpatient Services in Waterbury (969 W. Main Street, unit 2a), the Genoa Healthcare pharmacy is a convenient, effective way for our clients and their families to fill prescriptions and manage the medications they need.

Community Support Program

The Community Support Program (CSP) provides community-based support for mental health and substance use disorders to assist individuals with achieving and maintaining independence in the community.  We serve adults 18 years old and over with a mental health diagnosis through the Rogers CSP for up to five individuals in Waterbury and the Wynnewood CSP for up to 22 individuals in Torrington.

We aim to provide services based on the individual needs of the client.  They include individual counseling, group counseling, family groups, connections with community resources, entitlement assistance, case management services and skill building interventions.

Referrals to the program must be made through the Connecticut State Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.

Supported Employment Services

Helping clients in recovery overcome barriers to employment.

We recognize that people have different needs and employment goals. With that in mind, our Employment Specialists help individuals diagnosed with a mental health disorder obtain and maintain an employment opportunity tailored to their life.

We can help individuals:

  • Identify career opportunities
  • Connect with local employers
  • Build pre-employment skills (such as writing a resume, practicing how to interview, approaching the application process, and more)
  • Receive follow-up support that can strengthen the foundation of their recovery
