McCall Center for Behavioral Health & HELP, Inc., together as one.

Western Connecticut, July 15, 2020 – Effective July 1, 2020, McCall Center for Behavioral Health & Help, Inc. have officially joined forces as one organization. Together, the two well-es- tablished and respected nonprofit behavioral health organizations will now collectively provide a broader range of integrated prevention and treatment services to individuals and families across a larger footprint of western Connecticut. Help and McCall have been providing behavioral health services to individuals and families in their communities since 1970 and 1978, respectively.

“Access to care for substance use and mental health is critically important, but remains a challenge for too many. This decision effectively improves access by expanding our continuum of care to ensure that people get the support they need, when they need it, regardless of their entry point.” said McCall Executive Director, Maria Coutant Skinner, LCSW. “We believe that it’s in the connections and the relationships that we build, where true healing occurs.”

The mission of the newly affiliated organization is to help people overcome mental health and substance use challenges, so they can lead healthier, more productive lives. They deliver on this mission through outpatient, residential and case management programs – including specialty services for seniors and veterans. Prevention and educational programs are also offered for schools, communities and families. Offices and residences are located in Canaan, Danbury, Torrington, Waterbury and Winsted, Connecticut.

“This is the first step in a two-step process toward a full entity merger,” said Help, Inc. Executive Director, Roberta Murtagh. “As we continue on this transition, we want to reassure our clients and partners that we will continue to operate all services and programs as before in their respective locations. Our missions are the same, yet very few of our services exactly overlap. This means, we can offer even more support and make an even stronger impact in our communities.”
