FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(TORRINGTON, CT) – September 17, 2023 – McCall Behavioral Health Network has been awarded a Top Workplace 2023 honor by The Hearst Connecticut Top Workplaces. The list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC. The confidential survey uniquely measures 15 culture drivers that are critical to the success of any organization, including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.
“The fact that this recognition is based on a survey of our own internal staff is really significant,” said Maria Coutant Skinner, LCSW, President and CEO of the McCall Behavioral Health Network. “This award makes us extremely proud, especially after being designated as a Recovery Friendly Workplace. We prove that recovery is possible and that there’s a place for everyone to find meaning in their work, to feel a sense of belonging. Our people are passionate about what they do. Their motivation comes from a place of kindness and compassion. Everyone at McCall—our staff members and clients alike—should be proud of the safe, welcoming, judgement-free environment that they created.”
The Top Workplaces program has a 16-year history of surveying more than 20 million employees and recognizing the top organizations across 60 markets for regional Top Workplaces awards.
“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “That’s something to be proud of. In today’s market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That’s paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”
This is the sixth straight year that the McCall Network has received this honor. The McCall Network is a nonprofit organization that specializes in helping individuals heal from substance use disorders, mental health disorders, or both.
McCall is proud to be part of the statewide Recovery Friendly Workplace initiative. Recovery Friendly Workplaces promote a “recovery-sensitive” attitude that emphasizes help, hope, and the economic potential of healthy employees. Opioid-related deaths continue to top 1,500 per year. According to the National Safety Council, nearly 75% of Americans with a substance use disorder are in the workplace, reinforcing the need for employers to focus attention on the issue.
