Region 10 Community Wellness Coalition

Serving residents of Harwinton and Burlington.

The Region 10 Community Wellness Coalition (R10 CWC) is a group of dedicated volunteers who aim to prevent underage drinking, substance use, and risky behaviors amongst youth in the Region 10 School District. R10 CWC is made up of representatives from agencies, businesses, schools, prevention professionals, churches, law enforcement, students, and parents.

Below is just a sampling of the Region 10 community initiatives, programs, and events that the R10 CWC participates in and sponsors:

  • Bi-annual National Drug Take Back Day
  • Several community events such as Tavern Day and The Harwinton Fair
  • Support for pro-social activities with community partners such as Adventure Recovery, Connecticut Association of Prevention Professionals (CAPP), Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA), and Safe Harbor
  • Community trainings such as Narcan administration, Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Suicide Prevention Training, and Mental Health First Aid 
  • Parent-specific trainings such as Hidden in Plain Sight – how to talk to your children about alcohol and other substances
  • Support for guest speakers at the middle school and high school, as well as Lewis S Mills Project Graduation
